I believe that those who frame formality in a one dimensional scale are oversimplifying something deeper. To reduce a tuxedo to something like a business suit, but more formal, is to miss the point as badly as Dale and Brennan.

Eveningwear is not like business formal. It is not stuffy or reserved. It is beautiful and bold. It says "I am here to party."

This is why some men choose to wear it to holiday celebrations, and especially on New Year's Eve. The events where people dress like that may seem more classy from a distance, but the eveningwear places no limit on your debauchery, I assure you.

Whether you want to go with an odd dinner jacket or full tux; whether you want to wear it with a bowtie, or something a little different like a turtleneck (but never a long tie, if I catch you wearing a long tie with a dinner jacket, we're going to have to step outside). Try it. You'll have more fun.

My tuxedo is from grandlemar (gifted, made to measure). It's a beautiful 4x1 with their incredible shawl lapel. They made it in their preferred heavy high-twist wool, which I really like. And it was very close to perfect on the first pass.

The bow tie is from labowtiquebowties, their medium dropped. Really, if you can afford it, this is the only place to go for a classic bowtie.

The shirt is from hockerty_official. It's online MTM on a budget, and I can't complain.

The cufflinks were from my grandfather, either from when he worked in Pakistan or India--I believe the latter.

The whisky is Heararch single malt from isleofharrisdistillers. It's sweeter than most bourbons, but distinctly still a scotch. In this first small glass, I got both peat and cherry. And I would say the scent was fruity-sweet, but I've been told that sweet isn't a smell. idk, I learned to talk about whiskey from a wizard on YouTube who wears a giant medallion, and he basically told me I was always right.

Oh, finally, my miniature glencairn-style glass was a gift from my cousin. I somehow lost both of my actual theglencairnglass glasses, and now I'm sad.
