We’ve shared stories all day of what your donations help us do. All of the lives that we are able to save and impact… pets and humans alike. As the day comes to a close, we want to express an immense amount of gratitude on behalf of ourselves and Zarah…

Zarah is an elderly cat that was set to be euthanized yesterday. She was found as a stray and after one medical exam it was determined that due to her age and her medical conditions that she wasn’t worth it 😭

She wasn’t worth the time. She wasn’t worth the money. She simply wasn’t worth saving. Zarah was meant to finish her mandatory stray hold and then be euthanized on November 19th.

We received a call from our friends at Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC). They couldn’t do it. They didn’t want Zarah’s 18 years of life to end that way. When they looked into her eyes, they saw a cat that still leaned into a gentle touch. A cat that still purred. A cat that still had love to give and a life to live. We picked Zarah up a couple of hours before her life was set to end.

At 18 years young, Zarah has kidney disease and is part of our Hospice Program where she is fostered by a vet tech who recently lost their cat to kidney failure.

Zarah will live out the rest of her days in a warm home, surrounded by compassion, soft blankets, and the kind of love she should have always known. Because she matters and is worth it. The way it should be for every animal… because they all matter and are all worth it ❤

The reason that Zarah’s life didn’t end yesterday is because of every single person that decided to donate for Give to the Max Day. We took a bet on our community, knowing they would show up for us today. 

Knowing they would show up for animals like Zarah.
