Whew! Prosecutors handling the fraud case involving #RHOP stars #WendyOsefo and her husband #EddieOsefo are pushing for even more of the couple’s financial records, according to baltimorebanner. Prosecutors claim documents will reveal a pattern of “excessive spending” and help establish motive in their ongoing criminal fraud case, according to new filings. _________________________________
The Osefos’ legal team previously accused Carroll County prosecutors of going on a “fishing expedition” by demanding additional bank records. As we previously reported, the couple was indicted last month for allegedly staging a burglary at their Finksburg home to file a fraudulent insurance claim, and their attorneys are now asking the court to quash the subpoenas. _________________________________
However, prosecutors clapped back, saying the couple has “approximately 40 credit and/or debit cards, some of which are believed to be in company names,” and have allegedly used the aliases “Pam Oliver” and “Eddie Hennessy” in what they call a “deliberate attempt to mask their identity.” They also accuse Wendy Osefo of falsely denying she used PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App to pay for jewelry.

“The state anticipates seeing purchases as well as returns on the financial records,” prosecutors wrote. “Additionally, the State expects such documentation to show a pattern of excessive spending, supporting the motive in this case. The State avers that insurance fraud is a financial crime. In that, the amount of debt owed by the Osefos, jointly, individually, and by the businesses that they own, is highly relevant to their motive.” SWIPE to read a statement from Eddie’s attorney. ✍🏾#TSRStaffAS📷:(gettyimages)
