Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is playing an increasingly important role in powering economies and supporting energy systems around the world. In India, LNG is helping to meet rising energy demand while contributing to efforts to reduce emissions and diversify the energy mix.

In this journey from London to Delhi, Gujarat and Mumbai, we explore how LNG is being used across India, with insights from Pankaj Jain, Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India; Mallika Ishwaran, Chief Economist at Shell; Sanjay Kumar, Director of Marketing at GAIL India; Dilip Oommen, CEO of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India; and Nakul Raheja, General Manager of Shell Energy India. We visit Shell’s Hazira terminal to show how LNG is imported, regasified and distributed to customers across the country.
