LSU gutted out a defensive rock fight in Tiger Stadium, holding off Western Kentucky 13–10 to secure its seventh win of the season behind a dominant second-half performance from the Tigers’ defense.

Making his second career start, Michael Van Buren led LSU (7–4) with 202 yards passing and the Tigers’ lone offensive touchdown — an 11-yard strike to Trey’Daz Green late in the first half that gave LSU a 7–3 lead. LSU extended the advantage behind a pair of field goals from Damian Ramos (18 yards, 29 yards), building a 13–3 cushion heading into the fourth.

LSU’s defense took control after halftime, holding WKU (8–3) to just 152 total yards and 2.3 yards per play, its lowest offensive output of the season. Freshman running back Harlem Berry added 80 tough rushing yards, while the Tigers’ front seven lived in the backfield, limiting Hilltoppers QB Rodney Tisdale Jr. to 128 yards on 20-of-39 passing.

WKU pulled within one score on a 71-yard fumble return by Dylann Flowers with 1:05 remaining, but LSU’s defense slammed the door on the final possession to seal the win.

Despite committing nine penalties and struggling on third down (3-for-15), LSU rode its defense late — finishing the night with all three Weeks brothers (West, Whit, and Zach) on the field together for the first time this season.

The Tigers head into the final weekend looking to carry their defensive momentum into a massive showdown at No. 8 Oklahoma.
