𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱, 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱, 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱! ✍️

Our first women’s professional volleyball player from VC United!!! Congratulations to 2022 Alumni, Claire Ammeraal, on being drafted to the Omaha Supernovas in MLV!
Claire’s journey from VC United to the professional stage has been nothing short of remarkable. She began her collegiate career at Central Michigan University, where she immediately made her mark as one of the top setters in the MAC. As a freshman in 2022, she was named First-Team All-MAC, earned three MAC Setter of the Week honors, and recorded three triple-doubles, ranking eighth nationally. She totaled 932 assists that season—eighth-most in CMU single-season history—while adding 131 kills, 69 blocks, and an impressive 8.03 assists per set, the sixth-best mark in program history.

Claire only continued to elevate her game as a sophomore in 2023. She appeared in all 119 sets, earned Second-Team All-MAC honors, and received all-tournament recognition at both the Chippewa Invitational and the Hawkeye Invitational.  She delivered 1,080 assists—10th most in program history—while adding 168 kills, 323 digs, 25 aces, and 55 blocks, solidifying herself as one of the most dynamic setters in the conference.

In 2024, Claire transferred to the University of Iowa, stepping into the demands of the Big Ten, the toughest volleyball conference in the country. As a junior, she appeared in 18 matches, starting 14 and playing 59 sets. She recorded a season-best 41 assists versus San Jose State and 17 digs against Providence, all while earning Academic All–Big Ten honors for her work in the classroom.

From VC United → CMU → Iowa → now the Omaha Supernovas, Claire has built a career defined by grit, growth, and elite-level competitiveness. Her combination of offense, defense, leadership, and IQ has prepared her for the highest stage of the game.
