Two West Virginia National Guard troops remain in critical condition this morning--
following a shooting attack in Washington, DC, on Wednesday.

The FBI director and the DC mayor confirmed their condition.
 
The man officials accuse of shooting the guard members is now in custody after also being shot at the scene, just blocks from the white house.
 
He has been identified as a 29-year-old Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal.

According to reports by CNN, the accused shooter's identification matches that of a man from Washington State who came to the u-s from Afghanistan in 20-21--
likely through a Biden-era operation that brought Afghan refugees to the u-s when u-s and NATO forces withdrew from Afghanistan.
 
During what was coined "Operation Allies Welcome", the Biden administration claimed all refugees had been vetted.
 
Documentation shows he applied for asylum last year, and it was granted earlier this year under the trump administration.
 
While the white house has not responded to these claims, the president condemned the shooting in a video posted online, calling it a crime against our entire nation.
 
President Trump went on to call for a reexamination of every refugee who came from Afghanistan under the Biden administration.

The U.S. Citizenship and immigration services posted a statement on social media, saying "Effective immediately, processing of all immigration requests relating to Afghan nationals is stopped indefinitely."
