Winter’s just around the corner… and so is the fine dust 😶‍🌫️

Korea’s fine dust levels are expected to be higher than last year, and some areas even hit “very bad” levels this morning. 

From December through February, high-pollution days are likely to become even more frequent due to weather conditions.

To help combat this, the government plans to halt operations at up to 17 coal power plants through March.

Stay safe this winter — masks are basically part of the outfit at this point 😷

겨울 시작부터 미세먼지… 벌써부터 심상치 않아요 😶‍🌫️

올겨울 미세먼지 농도가 지난해보다 더 높을 전망이라고 하는데요!

오늘 오전에는 한때 ‘매우나쁨’ 수준까지 치솟으면서 초미세먼지 주의보도 발령됐죠.

특히 12월부터 2월까지는 기상 여건 영향으로 고농도 미세먼지가 더 자주 발생할 가능성이 크다고 합니다.

정부는 미세먼지를 줄이기 위해 내년 3월까지 최대 17기 석탄발전소 가동을 중단하는 등 특별 대책을 시행할 예정이라고 해요.
