Back in April, while the museum team was preparing the Stone House for restoration, team member Ileana opened the historic Whipple chest—long thought to be empty—and discovered a torn newspaper inside. Dated Wednesday, November 28, 1923, the paper featured vintage advertisements, local news, and several notices tied to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Among them were listings for turkeys, meal specials, and an announcement that Dade County schools would close for “two days” in observance of the season, as noted by the Assistant to the Superintendent at the time.

En abril, mientras el equipo del museo preparaba la Casa de Piedra para su restauración, Ileana, miembro del equipo, abrió el histórico baúl Whipple, que durante mucho tiempo se creyó vacío, y descubrió un periódico roto en su interior.
