Our von Arx Wildlife Hospital is currently caring for 16 baby squirrels, each receiving individualized attention from our dedicated staff and interns.

Their feeding schedules are carefully tailored to meet their specific needs and our hospital veterinarian conducts regular check-ins to monitor their progress. Every one of these animals represents a chance to give wildlife a second chance. This work is a vital part of our mission to protect and preserve Southwest Florida’s diverse wildlife.

Did you know that squirrels accidentally plant thousands of trees every year? They bury nuts to eat later and often forget where they hide some of them, many of those forgotten seeds sprout into new trees - making squirrels unintentional forest gardeners.
