One of the most remarkable moments of the 47th Leitz Photographica Auction was the sale of the unique charity lot, a Leica M-A set gifted to Pope Francis by Leica Camera AG. ⁣

The set achieved an outstanding result of €6.5 million - exceeding the original estimate by more than one hundred times.⁣
⁣
The set included a Noctilux-M 50mm f/1.2, both camera and lens carried serial number 5,000,000 and were adorned with intricate engravings.⁣

All proceeds from the sale have been directed to His Holiness' personal charity institution.⁣
