🎺 New Orleans Jazz Museum & Jazz International in Taiwan! 🇺🇸🎶🇹🇼
The New Orleans Jazz Museum, through our Jazz International initiative, proudly sent a world-class ensemble to Taiwan for a remarkable cultural exchange celebrating jazz, collaboration, and global friendship.
Representing the spirit of New Orleans, James Andrews (trumpet), Douglas Stone (saxophone), Vernon Severin(drums), and Sam Kuslan (piano) shared their talents and the rich legacy of jazz across Taiwan. 
Their journey included a masterclass at the National Taichung University of Education, a workshop with the Taichung Jazz Festival Celebration Big Band, and two unforgettable performances at the Taichung Jazz Festivalalongside the Taiwan All-Star and Celebration Big Band — reaching an audience of more than 50,000 people!
A highlight of the festival came when the band struck up “When the Saints Go Marching In” and led the crowd in a joyful second line parade — the first-ever second line experience in the festival’s 20+ year history!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cheng-Yu Lee, Music Director of the taipei_jazz_orchestra , the Taichung Jazz Festival, Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, the Taiwan Academy, and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston for their generous support in making this cultural exchange possible.
Together, we’re building and strengthening years of partnership, creativity, and collaboration through the universal language of jazz. 🎷✨
