Hailed as “The Brazilian Professor” by Blues Matters Magazine, Luciano Leães is internationally acclaimed for his distinctive blend of New Orleans R&B/Jazz with the rich rhythmic traditions of South America. With a career spanning over three decades, Luciano has shared the stage with blues legends such as Carey Bell, Hubert Sumlin, and Tony Coleman, and has mesmerized audiences at top-tier festivals including the Montreal Jazz Fest, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and Lucerne Blues Fest.

His latest single, Festa Brasilis — a vibrant homage to Professor Longhair — premiered on WWOZ’s New Orleans Music Show, further cementing his deep connection to the New Orleans piano legacy. In 2013, Luciano captivated a crowd of over 15,000 while opening solo for Elton John in Porto Alegre. His compositions have been performed by renowned Brazilian orchestras, and in 2023, he made history as the first Brazilian pianist to perform at the New Orleans Jazz Museum Piano Hour.

Today, Luciano celebrates International Jazz Day by performing his original composition, Sazerac No. 5 — a soulful journey through rhythm, roots, and improvisation.
