We were honored to welcome an esteemed delegation from Veracruz, Mexico to the New Orleans Jazz Museum, including Secretary of Culture Xóchitl Molina, Claudia Media, Dafne Ramirez, Margarita Alberto, and Cultural Assessor Alejandro Reyes. Helping facilitate this meaningful connection was Carlos Suárez, Director of External Affairs from the Mexican Consulate in New Orleans. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Alana Harris, Deputy of Cultural Economy for the City of New Orleans, for joining us and supporting these important projects, and International relations director for city of new orleans  Rosine Pema . 

This visit marks a meaningful moment in our shared journey of cultural exchange, musical heritage, and international collaboration. Over the years, the New Orleans Jazz Museum has been proud to support the Mexican Consulate in New Orleans—welcoming Mexican musicians to our museum and participating in cultural exchange missions to Mexico—promoting jazz on a global stage, fostering cross-cultural connections, and advancing cultural tourism.

Together, we discussed exciting plans for our upcoming cultural exchange to Veracruz in November 2025, as well as laying the groundwork for initiatives in 2026.
This delegation is visiting our beloved city as part of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival’s tribute to Mexico—a celebration of music, heritage, and unity.
