This Women’s History Month, the New Orleans Jazz Museum is celebrating the women who champion cultural exchange and global engagement. Today, we highlight Laila Bondi, Executive Director of Global New Orleans, whose leadership has strengthened cross-cultural connections through the arts.

Laila has developed programs that celebrate New Orleans’ artistic and cultural heritage while forging relationships with communities worldwide. Through initiatives like Promoting Social Change Through Music, Arts, and Community Development and Boosting the Creative Economy Through Expression and Film, she has welcomed international musicians, filmmakers, visual artists, and dancers, fostering exchanges that emphasize the transformative power of the arts.

Under her leadership, Global New Orleans hosted Crescent City Connections: Creativity Through Exchange, a summit bringing together artists, cultural organizations, and international leaders to explore how creativity and diplomacy drive community development. Most recently, she joined a New Orleans Jazz Museum delegation to the Dominican Republic, strengthening cultural ties through music, dance, and education, with workshops, performances, and special ceremonies designed to encourage professional development and cross-cultural collaboration.
