🦃 In 1957, the Aviation Products Division of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. built this 56-foot-tall Popeye balloon for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

The sailor's mighty forearms measured seven feet in diameter, and his four-foot pipe could hold 80 pounds of tobacco. More than spinach, it took 6,000 cubic feet of helium for the balloon to fully inflate.
