Senior Sergeant Simone Field is one of our Family Violence Training Officers (FVTO).⁣
⁣
She's dedicated the past 10 years to family violence work, having worked across sexual offences, child abuse and family violence investigations before moving into the training space.⁣
⁣
The FVTO role is embedded in the division, giving Simone a close look at emerging themes and challenges at a grassroot level.⁣
⁣
“I can influence change and processes with divisional management, while at the same time creating training packages that directly feed into the themes faced by our officers on the ground.”⁣
Simone's commitment to the family violence space was recognised when she was named 2025 Family Violence Practitioner of the Year.⁣
⁣
It's not an easy area to work in, but Simone knows she's making a difference and wants others to know that they can too.⁣
⁣
“If someone trusts you enough to open up and discloses that family violence is happening to them, please believe them. There is power for affected family member’s in just being believed.”⁣
