On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the 501st Legion proudly highlights one of its remarkable members: Dominic Morin (ID-81081) of 501stquebec .

Dominic’s path to the Legion began in 2020, when a friendship with a member introduced him to the welcoming community of the Québec Garrison. In 2023, Dominic became the first wheelchair-using member approved in his Garrison.

As part of the Québec Garrison’s command staff, he has had the privilege of organizing unforgettable events for outstanding causes, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation. As a former Make-A-Wish kid himself, he shares his story to help others understand just how important these fundraising efforts are for children facing immense challenges every day.

Living with SMA Type II, Dominic faces daily physical challenges, yet his determination and optimism have shaped a life full of accomplishments. He holds a degree in translation, speaks French, English, and Spanish, and has helped children succeed academically through private English tutoring. Dominic also received the Governor General of Canada’s Medal for his contribution to the integration of disabled children across the country.

Outside of the 501st, Dominic enjoys connecting with fans through his YouTube channel, Star Wars Artefacts, where he reviews props and collectibles from across the galaxy. He also loves trooping with other Garrisons, including the Capital City Garrison, Canadian Garrison, and Empire City Garrison, where he is always welcomed as family.
Today, we are proud to recognize Dominic for his dedication, spirit, and impact within the 501st Legion.
