Tori McClung, a #MoodyGrad, loved her time at Moody College so much that she decided to return for a master’s degree in advertising. Originally from San Antonio, TX, Tori chose #TEXASMoody for its supportive environment and the diverse opportunities to explore how communication can be utilized across industries.

“My passion for filmmaking began at nine years old after seeing a stop motion video featuring American Girl Dolls. I began making my own videos with my sister, and soon my childhood curiosity turned into a lasting love for visual storytelling and drove me to study RTF in college.” While she was an undergraduate, Tori developed a strong interest in brand storytelling, which inspired her to return to Moody.

Tori said her Moody experience has been amazing! “I learned that I love connecting with people, whether it’s through making them laugh with my funny short films or interviewing them and learning about their experiences. As an undergrad, I discovered the power of saying yes to new opportunities, recognizing that taking chances often leads to unexpected growth and possibilities.”

She completed her bachelor’s degree in three years and was accepted into the Select Admission Program, which allowed her to start taking courses toward her M.A. in Advertising. She wants to leverage creativity to build meaningful connections between brands and consumers.

This past summer, she was selected as the TelevisionAcademyFoundation’s commercial production intern in Los Angeles and was named one of ten Bob Bennett Future Leaders, gaining additional mentorship, a stipend, and leadership training.

“By interning with TBWA\Media Arts Lab, RadicalMedia, and Cosmo Street, I was able to see the full process of commercial production. This experience taught me what it takes to be a successful advertising creative and made me increasingly motivated to work hard in my texcreative portfolio classes.” While she was in Los Angeles, Tori had the honor of being a Trophy Presenter for the 77th LA Area Emmys!

“I would like to thank all the Moody professors, friends and family members who have supported me throughout my journey and helped me achieve these accomplishments.”
