A major milestone for Jamaica’s port and logistics sector achieved on Wednesday, December 3, 2025! 🇯🇲⚓
The Port Authority of Jamaica officially deploys its new Super Post-Panamax Ship-to-Shore (STS) cranes at the Kingston Container Terminal. This is a regional transshipment terminal that is fully owned by Jamaica through the PAJ and operated by KFTL.

These cranes are among the most advanced in the Caribbean and will significantly improve how fast, safe, and efficiently cargo is moved from ship to shore. This upgrade strengthens Jamaica’s ability to accommodate larger vessels and rising cargo volumes especially important as the port continues to support relief shipments after Hurricane Melissa.
