Five airlines under the Hanjin Group — Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul — will begin rolling out SpaceX’s Starlink in-flight Wi-Fi starting in Q3 2026. ✈️

With Starlink, planes tap into low-Earth-orbit satellites about 550 km above the ground, delivering ultra-fast speeds of up to 500 Mbps. That means every seat can stream OTT platforms, play online games, watch live news, and even handle large file uploads or cloud-based work with ease.

Korean Air and Asiana will start by equipping their long-haul fleets — the B777-300ER and A350-900 — and plan to expand installation through the end of 2027.

Ahead of launching their merged flagship carrier, the Hanjin Group says this upgrade is part of offering a whole new travel experience for passengers.

스타링크는 지상 550km 저궤도 위성을 활용해 최대 500Mbps에 달하는 초고속 인터넷을 제공하기 때문에, 모든 좌석에서 OTT 시청, 온라인 게임, 라이브 뉴스뿐 아니라 대용량 파일 전송·클라우드 기반 업무까지 문제 없이 사용할 수 있게 된다고 해요.

대한항공과 아시아나는 우선 장거리 노선에 투입되는 B777-300ER과 A350-900 기종부터 설치를 시작해, 2027년 말까지 순차적으로 확대할 예정입니다.

통합 항공사 출범을 앞둔 한진그룹은 이번 도입이 “완전히 새로운 여행 경험”을 제공하기 위한 첫걸음이라고 밝혔습니다.
