Your body rotates nonstop | Start training it or stay stuck!

Rotation is one of the body’s most fundamental movement patterns, yet it’s the one most people train the least. Research shows that up to 60–70% of force transfer in athletic and daily movements comes from the transverse plane, where rotation happens. Every step you take includes rotational loading of the hips and pelvis; during walking alone, the pelvis rotates up to 8 degrees each stride, and during running that increases to 10–15 degrees. The core’s main job isn’t endless crunches it’s to resist and control rotation, keeping the spine stable while the hips generate and transfer force.

When the hips and core don’t work together rotationally, the body compensates. Studies link weak rotational control to increased risk of low-back pain, knee valgus, and reduced running efficiency. Strong rotational strength in the hips and core allows power to travel smoothly from the lower body to the upper body, improving gait, speed, and injury resilience. Training the transverse plane through anti-rotation, controlled rotation, and hip rotational strength creates a more stable pelvis, a more efficient stride, and a body that’s better equipped for real-world movement where rotation never stops.
