SHOWTIMES:

12PM | EL NORTE
After their family is killed in a government massacre, two siblings flee Guatemala and embark on a perilous journey to El Norte: The United States. EL NORTE was restored in 2017 by the Academy Film Archive, supported in part by the Getty Foundation. 

3:30PM | MI FAMILIA
An immigrant narrates his family history across three generations, beginning with the journey of his father from Mexico to Los Angeles. Jimmy Smits, Esai Morales and Edward James Olmos star in this sprawling multigenerational saga. 

6PM | WHY DO FOOLS FALL IN LOVE?
Halle Berry, Vivica A. Fox and Lela Rochon play a singer, a petty thief and a teacher, all of whom claim to be the rightful widow of '50s singing sensation Frankie Lymon (Larenz Tate) and the sole benefactor of his estate. 

This program includes an in-person conversation with Gregory Nava moderated by Ava DuVernay between screenings of EL NORTE and MI FAMILIA.
