My family has been volunteering with our local community resource center and food pantry (El Sol in Jupiter Florida) for twenty years now, so when I learned there were a number of kids in our town unaccounted for in the national Angel Tree program, it weighed on me. So I’m fixing that! I’m not going to lie, this is a LOT to pull off in 2 weeks but I’m personally guaranteeing all 30+ of these kids have their Christmas wishlists fulfilled. If you’re willing & able, I hope you’ll consider helping me.  Here’s how it works if you live in driving distance of Jupiter, Florida: you come into El Sol in the next 2 weeks between 9am and 3pm, and you commit to taking a tag off of the tree and shopping the toy & clothing wishlist for that child. Then you bring the unwrapped items back by Dec 19! Then I’m going to organize everything, supplement additional items where needed, and then host a volunteer gift-wrapping party a few days before Christmas (I’ll bring cookies!) so we can get the gifts all ready for families to pick up in time for Christmas morning.  I’ll make it as easy as possible too! If you’re too busy to come in person to the tree, I can snap a photo of a tag for you! I can even drive to you to pick up gifts or you can Amazon them, whatever’s easiest! While the traditional Angel Tree program only goes up to 12 years old, I wanted this tree to go up to 18. (And I grabbed most of the oldest boys already bc they’re so often overlooked) (BTW: huge thanks to my mom for helping me design and print and cut out these tags in 24 hours, and to assemble the tree! And also @At Home sent me a PR box of Christmas goodies a few weeks ago that also included a $200 gift certificate, and I was able to use that to buy the tree, the star on top, the tree skirt, and ribbon! So serendipitous. They had no idea they’d be involved in this but I’m so, so grateful.)  #angeltree #angeltreehaul
