“I wasn’t really sure what college I wanted to go to, so I applied to NC State undecided, and I made it into the @ncstateexploratorystudies program. When I came to admitted students day, I really liked hearing about the program and how one-on-one and personal it was and how much they cared about getting you to make the right decision. So I chose NC State. My major now is elementary education.

What made me want to be an orientation leader was my past orientation leader. She was very kind and she really eased my worries because I have anxiety, so I was very nervous and scared. She gave a lot of helpful tips just about day-to-day life things at NC State that I didn’t know I needed to know, and it really helped me.

Predict my future? OK. I’ll be a teacher at a low-income school and hopefully through teaching there and through encouraging other well-educated educators to teach there, we’ll make a difference and the school will start to become more populous and students will have higher rates of success.
