Today, we are continuing the conversation around the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Registered Interior Designers lead this work through practice, education, and advocacy. We reached out to a few members to gather their insights on what accessible and Universal Design look like in real projects and in everyday professional practice.

• Brenda Bjarnason, ARIDO shared how Universal Design shapes her approach across workplaces, public buildings, homes, and seniors' communities - creating environments that support confidence, safety, and independence. See a few examples of her work in this post. More images available on our news page via the link in bio.

• Vanessa Tantalo, ARIDO offered her expertise through a recent ARIDO webinar for members focused on accessibility requirements, the Accessibility Canada Act, RHFAC, and understanding both visible and non-visible disabilities. Also, ARIDO's Accessibility Committee is continuing work to develop new resources that help members exceed minimum accessibility standards.

We're grateful to our members for leading these conversations and for shaping a more inclusive future for interior design in Ontario.
