He was once one of these kids. Dreaming big. Watching the ones ahead of him. Finding his place in a world that didn’t always see Pacific Islanders.

And now the story has flipped.
Now he’s the one showing them what’s possible.

This moment is a throwback to the Pacific Championships at Suncorp Stadium during the Samoa vs. Tonga game. It is more than just an entrance walkout. Suncorp is a place Jai hopes to one day fight in, but even before that dream becomes reality, he used the stage to spotlight the next generation.

Walking out with the talented youth of kingssivaacademy, Jai made sure the world saw them. He shouted out the staff who pour into these kids, who invest in their gifts, who guide them toward growth and identity. Because to him, that’s what it’s all about: shining light on where our young ones can go.

Jai Opetaia has always carried his culture with him, in the ring, on the walkouts, through the music he chooses, and in every visual representation of who he is. He always finds a way to honor his roots. That pride runs deep. That pride is Samoan. He is, and has always been, a proud son of Samoa.

A small Island. A global impact. A champion who never forgets his people.

And tonight, as he steps into the ring once again, we know he’ll carry that same pride, in and out of the ring. Wishing Jai all the best for his fight tonight.
