I went from being on top of the world with winning America’s first ever Olympic gold medal in women’s wrestling to two years later being at the very lowest of lows: being admitted into a psychiatric ward for being deemed “unsafe to myself”. 

All of this was en route to trying to heal & hopefully make my second Olympic team…
