It was another wonderful Grandparents Day as we welcomed several hundred to 1180 Delaware Ave. on Sunday for this special annual event.

The morning began with Mass in Scaccia Auditorium followed by brunch in the Bernard J. Kennedy ’49 Field House as current students welcomed their grandparents to our campus.

Mass was celebrated by Director of Campus Ministry Fr. Chuck Frederico, S.J., and concelebrants President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J., Assistant to the President Fr. Richard Zanoni, S.J., and Assistant to the Principal Fr. Edward Durkin, S.J.

Fr. Ciancimino delivered a special message, as did student speaker Seamus Mahoney ’26.

Several students participated in the Mass, including: Luca Comaratta ’27 (First Reading, from the Book of Isaiah), Henry Welsch ’27 (Responsorial Psalm), and Preston King ’29 (Second Reading, from the Letter to the Romans), as well as Charles Welsch ’28 and William Emblidge ’27 (both read the Prayers of the Faithful). The crossbearer was Christian Lumba ’27, while the candlebearers were Alexander Horner ’28 and Evan Alessi ’27. The chorus and an instrumental ensemble also performed.
