Before retiring, Jim Donovan is squeezing in one last big project and submitting an application to the Guinness World Record for the largest private collection of socks. 

Over the years, he's collected over 1,500 socks, and the majority have been sent by viewers. 

Now with the application submitted, all that's left is to wait until he hears back from Guinness officials.
