MEET THE ARTIST, EMMA GILBERT (emmagilbertart):
👩‍🎨 The Alabaster native has been painting for as long as she can remember 
🏷️ She began selling her artwork at age 12 
🚐 She travels the USA in a self-converted shuttle bus (only 192 sq.ft.)
📍 Since 2021 she completed murals in Georgia, Utah + now, Montevallo!

“FOLLOW THE LIGHT” MURAL: 
💡Inspired by Ebenezer Swamp + elements of the University of Montevallo
🕯️Its central figure (+ friend of Emma’s) cradles a glowing firefly, symbolizing Montevallo’s iconic lantern + guiding motto.
📍603 Main St, Montevallo
 
THE “PHONE BOOTH WALL”: 
☎️ Nostalgic piece that celebrates Montevallo’s 1930s history, when locals would line up to use a public phone booth.
📍665 Main St, Montevallo
 
💰Both murals were commissioned by montevallomainstreet + funded through a grant from mainstreetal
