With the holidays coming up, many of us will be surrounded by those we love and cherish. It does remind me, though, that there are many in our country who’ve had their family members stolen from them—illegally, unjustly, inhumanely. When I’m reminded of all I have, it’s hard not to think of those who don’t get to take these things for granted. Advocacy starts at home: whether it’s thinking of them, lifting a prayer for them, or even discussing some of these challenging topics with those we love and respect.
