The Ultimate TANZANIA Family Safari Itinerary! 🦒

Day 1: Flight to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

We stayed at the “Golden Tulip” hotel one night before our flight into Arusha the next day.

Day 2: Flight to Arusha, Tanzania

One night at Rivertrees Country Inn. If coming from the U.S., you will want 1-2 nights to adjust to the time change. Highly recommend! The rooms were lovely, and our family had plenty of room. There’s a pool. Check out my Tanzania highlight for pictures! 🧳

Day 3: Bush Flight into the Serengeti, stay at Taasalodge

Taasa Lodge is on the northern edge of the Serengeti and is within their private concession. You also have access to the Serengeti, so you get the best of both worlds without the crowds. 🙌🏼 The is a once-in-a-lifetime luxury glamping safari. 💙

🐘 I recommend staying four nights, especially if you want to experience the Maasai Village. You will also need a private vehicle if you are taking the kids.

Day 7: Bush flight back to Arusha & flight into Zanzibar, Tanzania

Drive to the northern tip of the island and check in at zurizanzibar

Zuri Zanzibar is an absolute paradise...the rooms, food, staff, and ocean! Zuri is further away and on the northern tip, but it is worth it! I wouldn’t call it a family-friendly resort because they don’t have a kids’ club or activities, but we had the best time! You could spend a night in Stone Town to explore the area south. Be sure to arrive during the day. We had drivers set up through our travel designers.

Day 8: Zuri

Because of the ocean tides, you must be careful of the resorts in Zanzibar. I did a lot of research before choosing Zuri.

Day 9: Zuri

Make sure you check out Nakupenda Island one day. Go early so you beat the crowds! 🌴

Day 10: Zuri

I recommend 5 nights if you can. It can rain a lot in Zanzibar.
