Today we’re traveling to the Old Dominion state for our Army ROTC #CadetOfTheWeek

Meet Drew Howell, a senior majoring in Business Nonprofit Management with a minor in Theology at Liberty University in Virginia.

Howell joined #ArmyROTC because he felt a strong calling to serve the Nation.

“ROTC allows me to pursue that commitment while also providing valuable leadership training and financial
support for my education, which I consider a blessing.”

Cadet Howell excelled during #CST2025 this past summer, earning a top score and setting the standard in leadership, tactical competence, and adaptability in complex and ambiguous training environments.

“Since joining ROTC, I have had the opportunity to push beyond the limits that I thought I had. I have
grown confidence by stepping out of my comfort zone and have had the opportunity to meet many like-
minded cadets who desire to serve and become better leaders.”

He is a member of Liberty’s powerlifting team, he loves to both watch and play golf, and he also plays intramural soccer. Outside of academics and athletics, Howell loves to travel with his wife, read books, and go to the movies. He is also an avid volunteer.

“I am deeply passionate about serving my community and am actively involved in my local church, where I volunteer as a leader for both the middle school and high school youth groups. Throughout college, I have also taken part in several mission opportunities, including three domestic trips with my church and an international trip to Togo.”

Howell draws from his deep-rooted faith as his inspiration for leadership.

“I am motivated to reflect the goodness I have received in my life to those that I lead.”

After graduation, Howell hopes to commission into the Army Reserves as an Engineering officer. He has a long-term goal of serving as a Chaplain in the U.S. Army.
