After receiving a Special Mention for the Caméra d’Or with Plan 75 in 2022, Chie Hayakawa made her debut in Competition at #Cannes2025 with #Renoir. Drawing inspiration from her own personal history, the Japanese director paints a portrait of an 11-year-old girl facing the end of her father's life. A subtle and delicate film that, in small strokes, explores fear, guilt, loneliness, the refuge of imagination, and questions our ability to understand  the pain of others.
