In 1976, reporter Blair Sabol described the “Saturday’s Generation” as Upper East Siders with chrome-and-glass furniture, Brie in the fridge, Famous Amos T-shirts and the right patch jeans, an identity as curated as their shopping habits. Bloomingdale’s became their go-to hub. “I’ve met more people at Bloomingdale’s than I have at any singles bar on the East Side,” one shopper told 60 Minutes. Sabol even offered tips for singles: head to the active sports department “because you can always get a free ski trip" or the cheese counter because “if somebody’s buying 12 pounds of Brie," they’re going to a party, and you can get an invite.  #bloomingdales #saturday #dating #datingadvice
