#PressPlay: An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury has indicted five people in connection with the hazing death of Southern University student #CalebWilson, who passed away in February during an off-campus Omega Psi Phi-related event.

Per wafb District Attorney Hillar Moore, standing alongside Wilson’s family, confirmed the case is still active, noting investigators are continuing to analyze cell phones, gather evidence, and seek cooperation from those already charged.

As we previously reported, Wilson collapsed after being struck in the chest during what authorities describe as a hazing ritual. #CalebMcCray was indicted for manslaughter and principal to felony hazing. He is accused of punching Wilson in the chest multiple times, causing him to collapse. #KyleThurman was indicted for principal to felony hazing and three counts of obstruction of justice. #IsaiahSmith indicted for principal to manslaughter, principal to felony hazing, and obstruction of justice. #JaydnLandrum indicted for principal to felony hazing, and Winston Sanders indicted for principal to felony hazing and two counts of obstruction of justice.

A sixth individual, #JaelynGrissom, was presented to the grand jury, but no decision was made. Prosecutors say charges could still come later if additional evidence emerges. All five indicted suspects were also charged with misdemeanor hazing related to the other pledges allegedly being hazed that same night. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
