First stop: Tennessee! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Students explored innovation and entrepreneurship at the Spark CleanTech Accelerator at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, the Brickyard Tech Incubator, and Food Inc. Kitchen Incubator in Chattanooga. They also participated in the CO.Starters Bootcamp in partnership with University of Tennessee-Chattanooga πŸ’‘ Next up: Roanoke, Virginia! They hiked the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail, and attended the Richmond Fed Rural Development Conference 🌿 Before leaving Virginia, the cohort biked the Creeper Trail from Abingdon to Damascus πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ and enjoyed a performance of Thurgood at the Barter Theater 🎭 Then it was off to Eastern Kentucky, where students visited the Starfire Solar Site, Pine Mountain Settlement School, Portal 31 Coal Mine, and Appalshop β€” connecting with local entrepreneurs and learning their powerful stories πŸ’¬ The adventure wrapped up in Lexington, KY, with visits to DV8 Kitchen, West Sixth Brewing, FoodChain, and Broke Spoke Bike Shop, ending with an unforgettable underground kayaking experience at Red River Gorge! πŸ›Ά A summer full of learning, exploration, and memories we’ll never forget πŸ’™βœ¨ The next one can be you!
