What does leadership in land use and public health look like?

For Marja Williams, Principal at Urban Oranje, Health Leaders Network alum, and Product Council Chair for the Sustainable Development Council, it began with helping draft ULI’s 10 Principles for Building Healthy Places. That experience sparked a lasting commitment to designing neighborhoods that support health, equity, and sustainability.

"I believe the built environment - our cities, neighborhoods, homes, workplaces, and public spaces -  has a profound impact on our health. Physical, mental, financial, emotional and social health are all impacted by how we engage with our environment."

From walkable communities to inclusive housing and neurodiverse design, Marja continues to apply what she’s learned through the Health Leaders Network to every project she leads.
