The 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships will start tomorrow, Monday, for the 14 Canadian sailors who will proudly represent Canada at this event this week, December 15-19, in Vilamoura, Portugal.

Notes from the team:

*Simón Fauser from Vancouver, B.C. (RVanYC), will replace Valentino Blewett from Whistler, B.C. (Whistler Sailing), in the men's iQFoil event due to illness.

**Canadian ILCA 6 sailors Maya Wolf and Andre Deseau took part in a Youth Mixed 2v2 Team Racing demonstration event earlier this week. They finished 8th out of a total of nine teams in this challenging but rewarding experience where they were able to practice some different racing skills and get out on the water a few days earlier.

***Some athletes arrived in Portugal later than others (including a delay of 30 hours), mainly due to a major national workers' strike that led to the cancellation of all flights to the country earlier this week.

Les Championnats du monde de la jeunesse en voile 2025 débutera demain, lundi, pour les 14 athlètes canadiens qui représenteront fièrement le Canada à cette compétition cette semaine, du 15 au 19 décembre, à Vilamoura, au Portugal.

Notes de l'équipe : 

**Simón Fauser de Vancouver, en C.-B. (RVanYC), remplacera Valentino Blewett de Whistler, en C.-B. (Whistler Sailing), dans l'épreuve masculine en iQFoil en raison de la maladie.

**Les athlètes canadiens en ILCA 6 Maya Wolf et Andre Deseau ont participé à une compétition de démonstration de course en équipe de 2 contre 2 mixte de la jeunesse plus tôt cette semaine. Ils ont terminé 8e sur un total de neuf équipes lors de cette expérience difficile mais enrichissante où ils ont pu mettre en pratique différentes techniques de course et aller sur l'eau quelques jours plus tôt que prévu.
