I was able to spend the last decade photographing this incredible animal all over the continent. From Las Vegas to Edmonton, from the tiniest of local Pro Rodeos to the bright lights of the Thomas and Mack, this animal athlete has deserved every single accolade he has earned. His standout, record setting and impossible to replicate career comes not only from the try and the instinct of the horse, but those who have nurtured his talent, his health and his performance. Everyone at c5.rodeo, tyson.c5, Vern, gillian_grant and the rest of the team should hold their heads high as they pull the trigger on Virgil one final time tonight at the lasvegasnf. Thank you for bringing such an incredible talent to all of us for all these years. What a horse. And straight outta Canada. A literal national treasure!
