Initial word from a league source says that #NewYorkRangers defenseman Adam Fox will be placed on long term IR.

ESPN’s Emily Kaplan says Fox’s upper-body injury is considered “week-to-week” and should not affect his availability for the Olympics in February.

Fox, 27, has three goals and 23 assists (leads team) this season. His 26 total points are also tied for the team lead with Artemi Panarin.
