What happened to this team that we all love? More importantly, what happened to this organization as a whole?

If you told me in October that the #NewYorkRangers wouldn’t at least make the #StanleyCup playoffs, I would’ve laughed in your face. Now being 80 games into this season from hell, I am honestly glad that they aren’t getting in. It sounds terrible to say as a fan of this team for over 20 years, but tell me one good reason why they should have gotten in?

If it wasn’t for their hot start in October, #NewYork would likely be last place in the conference at this point. Yes, their play has been atrocious for 90% of the season and the coaching sure hasn’t helped matters, but management has done no favors either.

It almost feels like once a week that there’s some sort of drama with the #Rangers, whether it’s from the players, management or both. This is not normal behavior!!!!

We’ve heard examples this season like employees who work in social media not being allowed to travel with the team, the head coach not going into the locker room after games and now several players who are actively voicing their displeasure about how they have been treated. I could spend hours on that subject, but those are just some of the eye opening examples that stand out to me.

I was not alive during the 1992-93 season, but despite that team not making the playoffs coming off a Presidents Trophy season (1991-92), I highly doubt that season was as bad as the one we’re currently witnessing. Now for all you believers in history repeating itself, you’ll say, “Oh, well they won a cup the next season.” While that is true, do you really believe they’re close to that point now?!

This is going to be the most important offseason for this franchise in a loooong time and you cannot screw this thing up any more. It’s one thing to not win a championship in over 30 years, but it’s another thing when your entire organization is embarrassing themselves in the process as well.

I think that’ll do it for this rant, but I’m sure there will be plenty more that emerges once these players clean out their lockers and tell the media how they really felt about this monstrosity of a season. #NYR
