Spanning 187,000 decares (around 140 acres), the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) land in Igdir — at the crossroads of Türkiye, Armenia, Iran, and Nakhchivan — is home to livestock that graze freely around the mountain each day

In this immense landscape, just 14 mounted shepherds keep watch over the herds, relying on skill, tradition, and endurance

Wild horses, once released in neighboring countries and later becoming feral on Mount Agrı, are captured, trained, and brought back into service — playing a vital role in managing the herds across these high plains
