Capri Maddox, executive director of lacivilrights for the City of Los Angeles, brought her insights and expertise to students in USC Dornsife's Steve Swerdlow's International Human Rights class. Maddox shared her department's groundbreaking work to address systemic discrimination in areas of commerce, housing, employment, and education, including the newly launched Peace and Healing centers serving all Angelinos across the city.

Swerdlow said, "At USC Dornsife, we are so fortunate to have access to leaders like Ms. Maddox to enlighten and educate our students on how to put civil and human rights equity in action, particularly during the week of the funeral of Tyre Nichols following the tragic events in Memphis and the ongoing struggle to combat the scourge of systemic racism."
