Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would not be able to take control of Crimea or join NATO. ⁣

"None of this will work out for him. Regarding Crimea, it's a solid confidence of a million per cent that it won't work. Regarding NATO, I think it's also a million per cent that it won't work," Ushakov said.⁣

At the same time, Ushakov expressed doubts that EU and Ukrainian contributions to the US peace plan would be 'constructive'.⁣

"If there are relevant amendments, we will have very sharp objections because we have clearly outlined our position, which seemed to be quite understandable to the Americans," Ushakov added.⁣
