Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that one of the gunmen in the Bondi Beach shooting was probed in 2019. ⁣

“He was examined on the basis of being associated with others and the assessment was made that there was no indication of any ongoing threat or threat of him engaging in violence,” Albanese said at a news briefing.⁣

Forty people were taken to hospital following the attack, including two police officers who are in serious but stable condition, police said. The victims were aged between 10 and 87.⁣
