The sight of kids at baseball games with gloves is an iconic and enduring image that spans generations. Prior to the days of souvenir shops and online highlights, children would attend games with well-worn, inherited gloves, ready to participate in the experience. The goal wasn't to make a flawless catch, it was to feel invested in the game. This tradition persists today, with kids grasping their gloves throughout the game, following every pop fly and moving closer to the railing when a batter hits the ball their way. Catching a ball becomes a lifelong memory, but returning home without one doesn't detract from the experience.
