If you’re travelling to the UK in 2026 - this is for you.

From Feb 2026 visitors will not be able to travel to the UK without advance permission.

Visitors from 85 territories will not be able to travel to the UK without an ETA.

ETA stands for Electronic Travel Authorisation and is a digital permit for visa-exempt visitors.

The ETA launched in 2023 over 13 million travellers have successfully applied.

The ETA costs £16 and you’ll usually get a decision within a few minutes.

It’s worthwhile applying well in advance of your journey, just to be safe.
