August Borden suffered severe injuries following an incident after school. The Deshler freshman was treated for a fractured skull, two broken orbital sockets and more from what the school system described as a fall.

Tuscumbia’s School Board hired an attorney to conduct an investigation into the school system’s actions following the incident.

The outside counsel closed the case and reported all staff and faculty members adhered to school policies, procedures and guidelines and said there was “no finding of ill will among the students.”

The statement comes after a similar finding from the Madison County District Attorney’s Office that found Borden’s injuries were the result of freak accident.
